Egyptian Premier League side, Pyramids FC, have announced that their winger Ahmed Hamoudi tore his Achilles tendon and will be out for at least three months.

Hamoudi’s journey with Pyramids has been full of obstacles since signing for them in September of 2019 as a free agent.

When he first joined them he was unable to play as they couldn’t include him in their squad because they had already filled-out the list of players allowed to participate in domestic tournaments.

Now, the former Al Ahly and Zamalek forward tore his Achilles tendon and has undergone a surgery as per the club’s announcement. Hamoudi will now have a recovery period of almost three months.

The 30-year-old kicked-off his career with Egyptian Premier League side Smouha, before moving to Switzerland where he signed for FC Basel.

He then returned to Egypt one year later with Cairo giants Zamalek and lifted the Egypt Cup with the Whites. Hamoudi then spent one season with Saudi Arabia’s Al-Batin before signing for Al Ahly in January 2017.

In 38 appearances for the Red Devils he scored two goals and delivered 10 assists. During his two-year-and-a-half, Hamoudi won three Egyptian Premier League titles and one Egypt Cup title.
