Not only will Conor Benn face Sebastian Formella in relation to the opponent, but the son of legendary ‘Dark Destroyer’ Nigel Benn will also rise to the Main Event slot after the postponement of Dillian Whyte’s rematch against Alexander Povetkin.

Whyte must avenge his shock loss to Povetkin from Matchroom Fight Camp 4 in August to save his world heavyweight title ambitions. However, with Povetkin testing positive for COVID-19, the rematch for the provisional WBC title will have to wait until early 2021.

The undefeated Benn was set to support Whyte-Povetkin II in his first fight in over a year largely due to the impact of the pandemic on all of live boxing. The battle with veteran former IBO welterweight title holder, Formella, is considered by many to be the Londoner’s first serious step towards the world title and he will seek to make up for lost time on November 21st.

“I’m not worried about what he can do,” the 24-year-old Benn told Sky Sports.

“It’s my trainer’s job to watch him. I don’t need to get it in my head. I don’t have to think about what he can do – I know what I can do.

“Come on, fight in the night, I don’t think he’ll have firepower like me. He apparently handled Shawn Porter, but I’m going in there to make a statement. ”
