An official from an Azerbaijani football club has been banned by UEFA at least until the end of the investigation for violating the “Rules of Decent Conduct” for genocidal comments made on social media against Armenians. Reuters reported.
The Qarabağ FK official was also charged with racist and discriminatory behavior because of the disgusting comments.
The European Football Federation said: “Nurlan Ibrahimov is temporarily prohibited from engaging in football-related activities with immediate effect until the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body has decided on the merits of the case.”
Ibrahimov has been charged with racism (Art. 14 (1) of the UEFA Disciplinary Code) and violation of the Basic Rules of Good Conduct. 11 (2) (b).
Qarabağ FK’s PR and media manager called for the murder of all Armenians, old and young, before attempting to justify the Armenian genocide committed by Turkey.
Although the officer has already deleted his post from social media, hundreds of users have been able to view and save it.
“We have to kill all Armenians – children, women and the elderly. We have to kill them without making a difference. No regret. No compassion, ”he wrote.
On Saturday, the Armenian Football Association demanded that the Azerbaijani football club be excluded from European football because of the comments.
Turkey has been sponsoring the Azerbaijani military and Syrian mercenaries to invade Artsakh by indigenous Armenian forces since September 27th.
Qarabağ said in a statement on Sunday that it had opened internal disciplinary proceedings and that its comments would not be endorsed by the club.
Ibrahimov claims that he regrets his comments.
Just last month, UEFA reprimanded players and officials from Qarabağ for delivering a military salute during their Europa League qualifier against Legia Warsaw on October 1, just days after Azerbaijan launched its attempt to invade Artsakh.
