QUEENSLAND – Collingwood is keen to pull Melbourne defenseman Neville Jetta out of favor during the trading session.

Jetta is under contract for 2021, but has only managed six senior games this year.

Foxfooty.com.au understands that he loves his Demons teammates, but Nathan Buckley has spoken to him directly and the prospect of a multi-year contract with the Pies and more career security appeals to him.

Preliminary final

Jetta will be 31 years old next February and is eager to play regular senior football again. He’s not the Magpies top priority, but he remains a player of great interest nonetheless.

Jetta has told close friends that he is weighing his next move and would find it difficult, but not impossible, to leave the demons and spend two or three more years of his career.

Since he wasn’t in Simon Goodwin’s top 22 for most of 2020, the demons would accept a fair trade.

Meanwhile, GWS is considering adjusting Geelong’s offer for Jeremy Cameron if the key striker exercises his restricted free agent rights and nominates the cats.

The Giants believe Cameron wants to stay but is torn on his next move. The cats have three picks for the first round and GWS would ask for at least two of those picks if they match Geelong’s bid.

Foxfooty.com.au understands that Cameron caught up with GWS CEO Dave Matthews and Channel 7 Chef James Warburton on Wednesday in Sydney.

The giants hope to get an official response within a few days.

At St. Kilda, Ben Paton is likely to sign again after a breakout season in defense.

Foxfooty.com.au Essendon reported in September that he circled the perennial boy and was ready to throw himself if Adam Saad left.

But the Saints are determined to keep Paton, who has played every game this year and has rarely been beaten. A deal of at least two years beckons.

On the Gold Coast, Will Brodie seems to be more likely to stay than Peter Wright. The Suns are open to offers, but privately they believe Wright will attract more attention than Brodie during the trading period. Both are under contract for two more seasons.

The Suns are buying their Pick 5s from competing clubs after bringing elite young talent through the door for several seasons.
