Thank you for reading the news about Al Ahly hope to snatch Zamalek midfielder – Report and now with the details
Tunisian news reports have suggested that Egyptian Premier League side Al Ahly are looking to snatch Zamalek and Tunisia international Ferjani Sassi.
Since joining Zamalek from Saudi side Al Nasr back in 2018, Sassi became an instant fan favorite mainly due to his consistently influential performances.
During his two years in the White Castle, the 28-year-old has won his fair share of silverware including the CAF Confederation Cup, CAF Super Cup, the Egypt Cup and the Egyptian Super Cup.
Now according to Tunisian news website, Gnet, Sassi has been approached by Al Ahly to see if there’s a possibility for him to sign for his current club’s main adversary.
The midfielder, who’s contract is set to end in June 2021, is going to give Zamalek the priority if they wish to extend his contract, per the Tunisia national team’s mental trainer, Ichraf Kanfoud.
Additionally, in a separate report, Gnet also suggested that Saudi powerhouse Al Hilal are interested in purchasing Sassi in the current transfer window.
The 16-time Saudi champions are willing to sign him as soon as possible but Zamalek president, Mortada Mansour, has put a $17 million price tag on the Tunisia international due to his importance to the team.
Sassi has already lifted two trophies this season with the White Knights (CAF Confederation Cup and CAF Super Cup).
Even though lifting the Egyptian Premier League title is highly unlikely due to the huge point gap between them and league leaders Al Ahly. He could still win another title as they are currently competing in the CAF Champions League semi-finals.
