Al-Nassr FC winger and Morocco international, Nordin Amrabat, has tested positive for coronavirus, the club confirmed on Saturday.

The Saudi Professional League was suspended in March due to the coronavirus outbreak, which had originated from China and diffused rapidly in various countries around the world.

However, it was confirmed that the league is set to return on 4 August after a five-month pause.

And ahead of the league’s resumption, Al-Nassr released a statement, announcing that Morocco’s Nordine Amrabat had tested positive for COVID-19 after undergoing the PCR test.

“Nordin [Amrabat] will have another COVID-19 swab after it was confirmed that he contracted the coronavirus as the player has not previously shown any symptoms,” Al-Nassr said in a statement.

The 33-year-old has made 28 appearances this season, scoring four goals and providing nine assists across all competitions.
