Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane sounded in trouble for losing midfielder Thapelo Morena due to an ankle break injury on Saturday. Over and above , the South African is already crossing his fingers he will not lose another player who is the defender, Tebogo Langerman ahead of his CAF Champions League clash against Al Ahly.

Following Morena’s ankle break on Sunday during the Nedbank Cup win over SuperSport United at Loftus stadium, the Brazillians defender Tebogo Langerman got on a groin injury that might require an operation which will cost him Al Ahly game as well. 

“He is injured. He’s going to take it easy for at least 14 days then maybe to come back,”  Mosimane said.

“His injury must have an operation but the medical team they say he can manage if we give him a chance. We have a lot of people to go through the scissor. You saw [Mauricio] Affonso, he played against Wydad [Casablanca] for the last 10 minutes. He was not here today,” he continued.

Al Ahly and Sundowns clash will face each other over two legs in the quarter finals of the Champions League, the first leg on February 29 in Cairo and another time in Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on the 6th of March.  

It is worth mentioning that the last clash between both teams ended 1-5 on aggregate to the South African side which resulted in knocking Al Ahly out of the Quarter finals in April 2019.
