Aston Villa winger and Egypt international Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet has reflected on the winner he scored against Leicester City on Tuesday.

Speaking about his goal, Trezeguet expressed his delight after scoring while revealing that his goal was the outcome of a routine in training with Ahmed Elmohamady.

“I am really happy to score the goal that sent us to the cup final,” Trezeguet told beIN Sports.

“The goal came from a routine that I worked on in training with Elmohamady and on the pitch, I said to him: ‘far post’, but in Arabic, so nobody understands.

“It’s a great feeling, playing at Wembly in my first year at Aston Villa is a huge achievement, especially after defeating a big club like Leicester City,” he added.

Following his goal against Leicester, Trezeguet has now found the net four times for Villa in all competitions since joining them last summer.

Villa travel to the Vitality Stadium on Saturday as they face 18th-placed Bournemouth in the Premier League. Kick-off takes place at 17:00 CLT.
