Cairo giants Al Ahly have confirmed the signing of Rapid Wien and Senegalese forward Aliou Badji.

KingFut had exclusively revealed that Al Ahly have made Badji their priority as we approached the third week of the January transfer window.

It is now confirmed that the 22-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a four-and-a-half-year contract which runs until 2024.

This is Al Ahly’s second signing in January after Mahmoud Kahraba joined the Red Castle this transfer window.

The 41-time Egyptian Premier League champions have bolstered their attacking options as Aliou Badji is set to compete with Walid Azarou and Marwan Mohsen for a place in the starting lineup.

Badji has scored nine goals in 34 appearances for Rapid Wien since joining them last year.

The Senegalese had a better tally with Swedish side Djurgardens, where he scored 15 goals in 54 appearances, helping them win the Swedish Cup in 2018 and was the club’s top scorer at the U21 level.
