The 22-year-old Senegal U20 international has managed to establish himself as a key player for Austria’s Rapid Vienna, scoring three goals in 16 games this season.

Badji has been in Austria since February 2019, joining Rapid Vienna from Sweden’s Djurgardens IF for a fee around €1,5M. He has overall scored nine goals in 34 games since then.

However, at Djurgardens, he had a better time, helping them win the Swedish Cup in 2018 and was the club’s top scorer at the U21 level.

On the international level, Badji represented the Senegal U21 national team at the 2017 AFCON and World Cup, losing the final of the first against Zambia.

In case the Reds managed to seal the deal, they will be forced to lose one of their foreign players as they currently have four in their ranks.

It’s believed to be one of Walid Azaro or Geraldo to lose their spot in Al Ahly’s squad, especially with the latter having an official offer from Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien.
