Thank you for reading the news about Zamalek earn valuable draw against ZESCO United and now with the details

- Yasmine El Tohamy - Zamalek have earned a valuable point away from following a 1-1 draw with Zambian champions ZESCO United on Saturday.

The Whites travelled to face ZESCO United in the third round of the CAF Champions League group-stages.

They were aiming for the victory to end their recent disspointing run of results, however, they will still be happy about a point in Zambia.

ZESCO fully dominated the first-half, and could have scored more than one, if it wasn’t for Mohamed Abou-Gabal, who was in form on Saturday.

Ferjani Sassi and Ounajem could have also scored for Zamalek, but they couldn’t find the back of the net.

Abou-Gabal continued to shine in the second-half, and the hosts continued to waste chances, until substitute Mostafa Mohamed punished them in 72nd minute, converting Mohamed Abdel-Shafy’s inch-perfect cross.

However, only six minutes later, Quadri Kola Aladeokun brought ZESCO back into the game after tapping in a cross from inside the six-yard box.

The remaining minutes of the game didn’t witness much action, and eventually, both sides settled for the draw.

The draw keep Zamalek second with four points, three behind leaders TP Mazembe, and two ahead of 1º de Agosto, while ZESCO remain bottom with two points.
