Hind Al Soulia - Riyadh - Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH – The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) urged all holders of visit visas to adhere to the Kingdom’s regulations and instructions.

It warned that punitive measures will be taken against those failing to abide by the regulations to extend the visas or leave the Kingdom before the expiry date.

The Jawazat said that the service to extend visit visa is available through the Ministry of Interior’s Absher portal.

The period of visit visa can be extended at least seven days before the expiry of the visa and it is possible to extend within three days after the expiry date, provided that the holder of visa (visitor) is within the Kingdom.

The fees for the extension of the visa should be paid along with payment of tickets for traffic violations.

According to the Jawazat, the regulations also include that both of the visa applicant and the visa holder should be alive, and the total period of the visit visa after the extension does not exceed 180 days from the date of entry into the Kingdom.

The extension will be made in accordance with the basic period for which the visa was issued.

The Jawazat reminded that visa’s validity period and its extension must be verified by logging in Absher in order to avoid the penalties prescribed by law against violators.
