Artist Maher Salibi revealed in a phone call Zahrat Al Khaleej made with him. Hatem Ali was found dead in his apartment in Egypt after suffering a heart attack.

He said, “He was in Canada and traveled to Egypt to prepare for a work. Some friends went to his apartment to check on him and entered and found him dead with a heart attack.”

A great loss for the Syrian and Arab artistic arena, stressing that they have had a strong friendship for many years, and said: “Sure, Hatem achieved many of his dreams, but death had stolen him before he achieved his big dreams.” He pointed out that the Syrian director was preparing a movie in Egypt before his death. He did not disclose its details.

Born in 1962, Hatem Ali began his artistic life as an actor with director Haitham Haqqi in the series “Circle of Fire” in 1988. After that, he participated in dramatic works in which he combined historical and contemporary roles, and moved to television direction in the mid-nineties. Presents many feature-length television films and a number of trilogies and sevens.

Hatem Ali collaborated during his artistic career with the most important writers, including the poet Mamdouh Adwan, Amal Hanna, Dalaa Al-Rahbi and many others.

It is noteworthy that Hatem Ali had recently presented a movie in Canada entitled Peace by Chocolate, which sheds light on the successful experience of a Syrian family, which forced them to resort to Canada, to start their life from scratch to build a new future, where Hatem played the role of the father in the film.
