Hatem Ali, born in 1962, is a Syrian actor, writer and director. He started his life with theatrical writing and writing dramatic texts and short stories, and graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus in 1986.
He began his artistic career with director Haitham Haqqi in the series “Circle of Fire” (1988), and then continued his participation in dramas in which he embodied different personalities, ranging from historical and nomadic roles, to different and contradictory styles of life. He also has comedies with the artist, Yasser Al-Azma.
Hatem Ali also worked as a TV director, as he presented a large number of feature-length television films, and a number of trilogies and sevens, and in an advanced stage of his artistic career, he presented an important group of social and historical series, perhaps the most important of them: Al-Zeer Salem, which is an important turning point in His career.

Hatem Ali was preparing to shoot the movie “Muhammad Ali Pasha” from the script of Dr. Lamis Jaber, produced by “Good News” and starring Yahya Al-Fakharani, and directed a large number of series, including: “Rabih Cordoba” (2003), “Big Dreams” (2004), “Palestinian Westernization” (2004), and “King Farouk” ( 2007), “Orchidia” (2017), “Hell’s Stone” (2017), “It was yesterday” (2018), “Is this what happened” (2019).
The late director won many awards, including: the gold in the Cairo Arab Media Festival for the best series on “King Farouk”, the best director from the Cairo Arab Media Festival for the same series (2007), and a special mention for the long night from the Rotterdam Arab Film Festival (2009). ).
