Pilgrimage to Dubai ports: Saudi Arabia is sponsoring Emirati normalization

A project that constitutes an additional indication of Saudi Arabia’s direct involvement in the processes of normalization underway in full swing, which no longer needs confirmation of more than publicity and celebration, and they may not be far away.
The pilgrimage of the 48 Palestinians to Mecca has always represented a maneuvering card in domestic political battles. On the one hand, the Arab parties, committees, and notables played a role in this file, in which Jordan is a central player. He is the one who gives the 48 Palestinian Muslims temporary Jordanian passports, which they receive upon their arrival at the Jordanian land crossing through the Israeli “Allenby” crossing, and from there they travel by land to Mecca. However, some time ago, Riyadh imposed difficult conditions, objecting to the origin of those entering its territory with temporary Jordanian passports.
The unjustified Saudi objection was explained by the use of the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, this important obligation for Muslims to announce before the last Knesset elections in February, and as part of his propaganda campaign, that Tel Aviv and Riyadh will reach an agreement by virtue of which the 48 Palestinians will be allowed to Muslims make the pilgrimage to Mecca by flying from “Ben Gurion Airport”, and entering with the Israeli passports they carry. However, following the announcement of the signing of “peace agreements” between Tel Aviv on the one hand, and Abu Dhabi, Manama and finally Khartoum on the other hand, the UAE expressed its enthusiasm for the inauguration of a sea corridor that would start from the city of Eilat to reach the Saudi coasts off the city of Jeddah, to be used in the conduct of pilgrims’ convoys. The Umrah performers are among the 48 Palestinians. According to “Israel Today” newspaper, the Emirati delegation that recently visited Israel and toured a number of areas, including Eilat, in southern occupied Palestine, discussed with the Israelis the possibility of establishing the maritime project, expressing their enthusiasm for its implementation.
The Emirati delegation was not composed of businessmen only, but was headed by Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of Dubai Ports World. This is an indication of the interest that Abu Dhabi attaches to the project. Dubai Ports is one of the largest shipping companies in the world, and he accompanied Bin Sulayem on his visit to the port of Eilat, where he met the port’s director, Gideon Golber and its owner, Shlomi Fog, with a delegation of Emirati businessmen. In this context, Golber considered that “the movement of travelers from Eilat to Saudi Arabia can benefit and enhance tourism, especially after the latter has been affected in Israel in general and in Eilat in particular.” “The trip is very short, and the project will secure about two million passengers annually, which has a positive impact on tourism and the economy in Eilat in particular,” he said.
In addition, the newspaper mentioned that operating a sea line through which commercial container ships would travel between the port of Eilat and Jebel Ali port in Dubai will soon be considered, on a journey that takes about ten days. Not only that, but Israel will export the vegetables and fruits that Israeli farmers grow to the UAE via refrigerated ships, “especially since the Emirati delegation admires the Israeli agricultural production, which has heard a lot about its quality.”

But Hadassah is not just a medical institution; According to the Palestinian journalist and historian, Aref al-Aref, in his book “The Nakba and the Paradise of Lost”, “the Jews used its building (Hadassah) and the building of the Hebrew University forts that they had stationed in and began to seize travelers and residents of the neighboring neighborhoods, and they often fired from those buildings on the Sheikh neighborhood. These details may not mean anything to some rulers of the Arabian Peninsula, who prove day after day that they are more monarchs than the king, and more Zionists than the Zionists themselves.
