Normalization of Sudan .. Trump: 5 countries want a peace agreement...
, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – US President Donald has said that 5 other Arab countries want to sign a peace agreement with Israel, likely Saudi Arabia between them soon.

And while announcing the normalization of Sudan’s relations with Israel during a press conference via video conference with the participation of the leaders of the three countries, the US President affirmed that “5 countries want to join the peace agreement with Israel.”

Trump added that he was sure that Saudi Arabia would soon join the peace agreement with Israel, while Iran might join a similar agreement “eventually.”

While Trump affirmed his rejection of Iran obtaining nuclear weapons, saying: “Whoever is cheering death to Israel cannot obtain nuclear weapons, I would like to help Iran and return it to its correct course, but they must abandon nuclear weapons.”

For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the normalization of relations with Sudan as an “exceptional transformation,” considering that “a new era, an era of true peace, and today Khartoum says yes to peace with Israel, yes to recognition of Israel and yes to normalization with Israel.”

Netanyahu indicated that “another country,” which he did not name, would join Sudan, the Emirates and Bahrain in normalizing relations with Israel.

Meanwhile, the Sudanese Prime Minister, Abdullah Hamdok, thanked the US President for his support for removing his country’s name, the list of states sponsoring terrorism, and for sponsoring an agreement to normalize relations with Israel.

According to these developments, Sudan will become the third Arab country to normalize its relations with Israel within a month, after the agreements of the UAE and Bahrain signed under US sponsorship, in mid-September.

Trump’s announcement of the Sudan-Israel agreement came shortly after the White House announced that the US President had informed Congress of his intention to remove Sudan’s designation from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.

The cancellation of the designation, in effect for 27 years, is widely seen as linked to an agreement with Israel.

White House Press Secretary Kylie McCannani said in a statement that the official notification to Congress “comes on the heels of Sudan’s recent agreement to resolve some of the cases of American victims of terrorism and their families.”

Sudan agreed to a settlement with survivors and families of victims of the 1998 Al Qaeda attacks on the US embassies in Tanzania and Kenya, the 2000 attack on the USS Cole, and the 2008 killing of USAID employee John Granville in Khartoum.

During this period, Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was in Sudan.

The transitional government in Sudan transferred $ 335 million to a “escrow account for these victims and their families,” according to a White House statement.

The statement added, “Today marks an important step forward in bilateral relations between the United States and Sudan, and represents a pivotal turning point for Sudan, allowing for a new future of cooperation and support for its continuous and historic democratic transition.”

On Thursday, Sudanese and Israeli sources told CNN that the normalization of relations between Israel and Sudan might happen “within the next few days”, and that “now it is closer to occurring at that time.”
