Saudi Arabia … Second woman appointed to the position of ambassador...

Amal Bint Yahya Al-Mouallimi was sworn in on Tuesday in front of the Saudi monarch, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, in her capacity as the kingdom’s ambassador to Norway, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Al-Mouallimi is thus the second woman to assume the post of Saudi ambassador after Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud, who was appointed Riyadh’s ambassador to Washington two years ago.

Saudi media indicated that Al-Mouallemy is the sister of Abdullah Al-Mouallimi, the permanent representative of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations.

Al-Moallemy previously held positions in the educational field, social development and training, and was prominent in the field of defending the role of women in Saudi society.
