The work continued until the Shura Council was reconstituted in the year 1372 AH – 1953, which is the last Shura Council during the reign of King Abdulaziz. In a new dress, which included 20 members instead of 13.

The work of the Shura Council as an advisory body with independent responsibility continued until the Saudi Council of Ministers Law was promulgated in 1-2-1373 AH, which assumed some of the responsibilities of the Shura Council.

In its first session, the council consisted of a president and 60 members, and in its second session the council became composed of a chairman and 90 members, and in the third session the council included a chair and 120 members, and on January 11, 2013 (29 Safar 1434 AH), King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz issued a royal order amending the council’s system The Shura Council consists of 150 members, and at least 20% of them are women, and this is the first participation in the appointment of 30 women to the Council for the first time in the history of the Kingdom.
