Yesterday evening, large crowds witnessed the funeral of the deceased in Makkah Al-Mukarramah Sheikh Muhammad Ali Adam, the Ethiopian, who passed away yesterday, Thursday, at the age of 75, after a long journey in the service of calling to God, spreading legal knowledge and teaching at the Grand Mosque, in addition to authoring more than 50 books in various Islamic sciences.
Prominent preachers and sheikhs mourned the “Ethiopian” Sheikh, who spent nearly 4 decades in Saudi Arabia, and became one of the most famous preachers working hard in spreading knowledge and writing books.
In the obituary of the Ethiopian Sheikh, Dr. Suleiman Al-Rehaily, the imam of the Quba Mosque, said: “Today, the distinguished scholar, Muhammad Ali Adam, the Ethiopian, who wrote comprehensive books, useful audits and interesting investigations, died today.”
A member of the faculty at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Rayyis, said: “May God have mercy on the scholar Sheikh Muhammad Ali Adam, the Ethiopian great mercy, and made the highest paradise his home. The age of his life in science, learning, teaching and writing, God accepts him.
It is noteworthy that the Ethiopian sheikh was born in a countryside of Ethiopia in 1946, and memorized the Noble Qur’an at the hands of his father, before completing his legal education at the hands of the most prominent Islamic cleric in Ethiopia, after which he became a teacher there for 4 years.
In 1981, the Ethiopian sheikh immigrated to Mecca and settled there until his death yesterday. Where he studied at the beginning of his arrival at the Institute of the Great Mosque of Mecca, before he was appointed as a teacher at Dar Al-Hadith Charity with the approval of the late Mufti of Saudi Arabia, the late Imam Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Baz.
