Gaza: The Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” appreciated, on Wednesday, Amnesty International’s call for the release of its leader, Muhammad al-Khudari, who has been detained in Saudi prisons a year and a half ago.
This came in a statement to the movement’s spokesperson, Abd al-Latif al-Qanu ’, a copy of which arrived in Anatolia.
Al-Qanou ‘renewed his movement’s request to the Saudi authorities “to release Al-Khudary in light of the suffering he is subjected to inside his prison, especially in light of the spread of the Corona epidemic, and the real dangers he carries that threaten his life.”
And on Monday, Amnesty International said, on its Twitter page, that “Dr. Muhammad Al-Khudary is at great risk due to the Covid-19 virus, and requires medical care and cancer treatment.”
The organization called on King Salman bin Abdulaziz, “to ensure the release of Al-Khudari and his son Hani immediately and unconditionally.”

On September 9, 2019, Hamas announced the Saudi arrest of Al-Khudri and his son, and said that he was responsible in the movement for managing its relations with the Kingdom for two decades, and he held senior leadership positions in the movement.

The movement added that the arrest of al-Khudari comes “as part of a campaign that affects many of the Palestinian people residing in Saudi Arabia,” without further explanation.
For his part, the “Euro-Mediterranean” Human Rights Monitor (based in Geneva) said, in a statement issued on September 6, 2019, that Saudi Arabia forcibly hides 60 Palestinians, including Al-Khoudary and his son.
Since the beginning of the discussion on the issue of Palestinian detainees in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh has not issued any comment or clarifications.
