Saudi Arabia lifts the suspension of importing “non-farmed” marine fish from...

The Food and Drug Authority decided to lift the suspension of the import of (non-farmed) marine fish from Vietnam, while the suspension of the import of fish, shrimp, farmed aquatic products and uncultured shrimp will continue.

The authority stated that the decision comes after reviewing the reports on the health status of fish, shrimp and aquatic products diseases in Vietnam issued by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) and in accordance with the regulatory procedures for fish and other aquatic export facilities that the authority follows in the movement of importing fish and aquatic products.

The authority previously issued a decision on 5/6/1439 stating the suspension of importing fish, shrimp and aquatic products from Vietnam, starting from 1/3/2018, until the notes related to health requirements that were registered on the Vietnamese establishments were corrected in a way that guarantees the safety of consumption of fish products coming into the Kingdom From Vietnam.

It is mentioned that fish farming is the development or raising of aquaculture, whether plants or animals, in aquatic farms that can be controlled under appropriate environmental conditions, with the aim of increasing production.
