This step comes two weeks before the completion of the seven-week period, which was approved by the Ministry of Education in order to study it remotely for all stages of general education, as well as for universities so that it takes place remotely for theoretical courses and in preparation for practical courses. The Saudis are waiting for what the education system will look like in the second half of the first semester, after the first seven weeks have passed.
Al-Sheikh stated, during a meeting held by the ministry, that the ministry will conduct tests for a number of curricula for all public education students. To find out the results and draw up improvement plans for students’ performance during the distance education period. Stressing that the Ministry seeks integration with community institutions and relevant authorities to support remote education as a national project in an exceptional stage, and indicated that education directors have been instructed to follow the educational process and raise readiness for distance education processes.
The minister called for enhancing integration between community institutions and the Ministry of Education in support of distance education and e-learning programs. Stressing that distance education has become a strategic choice for the future; What requires continuing work to develop it, and adopting a culture of change within society to deal with the electronic educational environment without linking it to events or crises, stressing that the current stage is an opportunity for change and development, and to face challenges and overcome many of them.
For his part, Dr. Saleh Al-Ataiwi, a professor of educational technology and software project management at King Saud University in Riyadh, explained in a previous interview to “Asharq Al-Awsat” that evaluating the educational process is one of the basics of electronic distance learning to ensure continuous feedback and continued development to enhance performance. .
Returning to his meeting with the Minister of Education, he confirmed today that during the past five weeks, the school was the primary support center for students, teachers and their parents; In addition, the school provides psychological support through meeting with parents to provide psychological and educational preparation regarding evaluation and follow-up processes for students. Indicating that the Ministry has implemented a set of opinion polls to measure the beneficiaries’ experience of the services it provides (Madrasati platform).
The Minister of Education revealed the launch of the (Madrasati) application for male and female students and their parents, so that it can be downloaded and installed on all operating systems for smartphones, and it provides more than 16 educational services that will be activated in stages, and the Ministry also launched the My School competition; To spread success stories and the most prominent events of the Madrasati platform, with its refined enrichment products targeting teachers, administrators, students and their parents and those interested in educational affairs, according to three areas (education – media and education – training).
