JEDDAH — A 78-year-old man died of coronavirus in Bahrain, bringing the total number of fatalities in the kingdom to 4, according to a Health Ministry’s statement carried by Bahrain News Agency.

The deceased, a Bahraini citizen, was suffering from other diseases and having serious underlying health conditions.

He had contracted the virus after coming into contact with an infected person and was placed in an isolation center, receiving extensive 24-hour treatment from a specialized medical team.

“The deceased had received the necessary treatment and around-the-clock care by the specialized medical team, along with all the current cases in isolation and treatment centers. He was also subject to regular necessary laboratory tests,” the statement added.

All other existing coronavirus cases are currently in stable condition, except for two who are in intensive care unit, the ministry statement said.

Earlier, the ministry announced that as of Wednesday there are coronavirus cases, one of them in critical condition, and that 190 have been discharged.
