Hind Al Soulia - Riyadh - TEHRAN — Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to return to Pakistan after his current visit to Oman before traveling to Moscow, according to IRNA.
The state news agency, citing Iran’s Foreign Ministry, said part of Araghchi’s delegation had returned to Tehran after talks in Islamabad to seek guidance on issues related to ending the war, and was expected to rejoin him in Islamabad on Sunday night.
Leading a diplomatic delegation, Araghchi arrived in Muscat on Saturday evening.
On Sunday, he met Sultan Haitham bin Tariq and discussed the regional situation, including mediation efforts aimed at ending the conflict between the United States and Iran.
The Oman stop followed Araghchi’s earlier visit to Pakistan, where he held talks with Pakistani officials on the possibility of a second round of negotiations with Washington.
The first round of talks was held in Islamabad two weeks ago but failed to produce an agreement.
Those negotiations followed a two-week ceasefire brokered by Pakistan on April 8, which was later extended by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Araghchi is expected to continue his regional diplomatic tour with a planned visit to Moscow.
