Speaking to reporters while returning to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, Trump said Washington wants to secure Iran’s nuclear material through a deal.

“We'll go in with Iran, and we will take it together, and we will bring it back to the US,” Trump said.

He added that if no deal is reached, the US would seek it “in a different form, a much more unfriendly form.”

Trump was asked whether he would extend the ceasefire or resume attacks if no agreement is reached by Wednesday, when the two-week truce mediated by Pakistan expires.

“Maybe, I won't extend it, but the blockade is going to remain,” he said.

He added: “Maybe I won't extend it, so you have a blockade, and unfortunately, we have to start dropping bombs again.”

On Iranian claims that differences remain in negotiations, Trump said Tehran must address its domestic audience.

“They have to say something different because they have people they have to cater to,” he said.

Asked about possible tolls on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, Trump dismissed the idea.

“Nope. No way,” he said, adding: “There are not going to be tolls.”
