JAKARTA, Oct 22 — Public confidence in President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka remains low after their first year in office, a new report shows.
Both leaders received average performance scores of three and two out of 10, respectively.
The findings were published by the Center of Economic and Law Studies (Celios), based on two surveys conducted from September 30 to October 13 among 120 journalists and from October 2 to 17 among 1,338 members of the general public, The Jakarta Post reported.
The scores mark a decline from a similar survey during the administration’s first 100 days, when Prabowo scored five and Gibran three.
Celios researcher Media Askar said the results indicate a drop in perceived performance quality.
In the public survey, 56 per cent of respondents said only a few campaign promises had been fulfilled in the first year, while 43 per cent believed none had been met.
Over 70 per cent rated the execution of government programmes as “poor” or “very poor”, and 80 per cent said policy decisions did not reflect public needs and priorities.
The Red and White Cabinet, which comprises over 100 members, was also heavily criticised, with 64 per cent of respondents rating its overall leadership as “poor” or “very poor”.
Public communication drew the lowest marks, with more than 90 per cent expressing dissatisfaction.
