British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss and Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said in a joint article in the Telegraph yesterday that Britain and Israel would “work day and night” to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power.
“Time is ticking, which increases the necessity of close cooperation with our partners and friends to thwart Tehran’s ambitions,” the two ministers said.
Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said earlier yesterday that “Israel is very concerned about the willingness to lift sanctions and allow billions of (dollars) to flow into Iran, in return for unsatisfactory restrictions on the nuclear level.”
These statements come as negotiators are meeting in Vienna in a last-ditch effort to salvage the nuclear deal.
