The Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, considered that “the current tension in relations with Lebanon is not a crisis,” stressing the Kingdom’s support for a comprehensive reform there.
Bin Farhan said, in an interview with Al-Arabiya channel, on Saturday evening, that “there is no crisis with Lebanon, but rather a crisis in Lebanon due to the dominance of Iran’s proxies.”
Bin Farhan explained that Hezbollah’s dominance of the political system in Lebanon is a matter of concern to the Kingdom and “makes dealing with it useless.”
He pointed out that Saudi Arabia does not interfere in Lebanon and does not dictate anything to it, but the Kingdom will support any efforts for a comprehensive reform that “restores its sovereignty, strength and position in the Arab world,” noting that dialogue is continuing with international partners regarding the Lebanese file.
