Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan received today an Emirati delegation headed by Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE National Security Adviser.
According to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, during the meeting, which took place in Ankara, the two sides discussed “ways to enhance bilateral relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Turkey, especially economic and commercial cooperation and investment opportunities in the fields of transportation, health and energy, in order to achieve common interests between the two countries.”
During the meeting, a number of regional issues of common interest were also discussed.
During the meeting, Sheikh Tahnoun conveyed to Erdogan the greetings of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, while the Turkish President conveyed his greetings and wishes for their continued health and wellness.
Commenting on the meeting, Erdogan later said that there have been “contacts with Abu Dhabi recently… and some progress has been made.” He continued, “If the negotiations go well, the UAE will have huge investments in Turkey.”
