#MeToo: Darius Rochebin withdrawn from LCI for “a few days”

The investigation of the newspaper “Le Temps” had the effect of a bomb in the media landscape of Romandie. The daily reveals dysfunctions within the RTS by pinning several employees, including the former presenter Darius Rochebin. The latter is accused of having kissed by force while another tells how the journalist would have grabbed his hand to put it on his genitals. That’s not all. Testimonies from young men, who want to break into journalism, question the behavior of the ex-star of the “7:30 pm”. He would have offered them a cafe or a restaurant and the conversation would have skidded on their sex life. One of them allegedly had a relationship with the journalist. “I didn’t want to go any further, but I felt like I couldn’t go back,” he says daily.

Darius Rochebin responded to journalists via his lawyer, a long message taken up in particular by “Le Figaro”. He “firmly denies having engaged in criminally reprehensible acts”. “I have never been the subject of a complaint. I have never had an unwanted or illicit relationship. I will therefore fight against the amalgamations, gossip or insinuations of which I am the victim and I examine with my lawyer the legal follow-up that I will give ”, he confided, saying himself“ shocked by the malicious account ”of“ Time ”, which he considers“ peppered with anonymous comments ”. For the purposes of this investigation which also denounces two executives of the RTS, the newspaper says it has collected 30 testimonies.

“Le Figaro” explains that currently, the journalist “asked LCI to [le] free up a few days to be with [sa] family”. As a reminder, he is the presenter of a program entitled “Le 20 h de Darius Rochebin”, broadcast from Monday to Thursday between 8 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. In addition, scheduled for 2 p.m. this Saturday, his program of “major talks Was replaced by a discussion between David Pujadas and Professor Didier Raoult.

For its part, the TF1 group explained to the daily that it was not aware of “any incident of this nature” reported within the editorial staff of LCI against the journalist. The media “recalls being very attached to the presumption of innocence, follows this case very carefully and will take the necessary measures according to its evolution.”
