The autopsy of the young mother and her two young children, who were found dead in the family home, will be completed on Friday.

The tragic Seema Banu, 37, her daughter Asfira Riza, 11, and their son Faizan Syed, 6, were discovered at lunchtime on Wednesday at the house in Llewellyn Court, Ballinteer, South Dublin.

Detectives believe all three were strangled, but the autopsy will confirm the cause of death later Friday. Their bodies were there for several days, sources said.

Dr. Heidi Okkers, deputy state pathologist, did the grim task of the three family members on Thursday.

Lake Garda investigations into the alleged triple murder continue while neighbors grapple with the horrific details of the deaths on a quiet residential street.

Little Faizan and his sister Asfira Riza are “very much missed,” their school said in a moving tribute to the children.

Faizan was in first grade and Asfira was in sixth grade at Ballinteer Educate Together National School.

Headmaster Orlaith Curran said, “This is a terrible tragedy for your family, our school and our community.

“We are deeply saddened by these devastating events.

“Our condolences and thoughts go out to the family and friends of the children.

“They will both be missed by everyone who knew them.”

Ms. Curran said offers of support were “received”.

Psychologists met with staff ahead of the students’ return next week after the Halloween halftime break.

On Wednesday around 11:30 a.m., Gardai from the Armed Support Unit discovered Seema upstairs in a bedroom with a ligature around his neck. Her children were found dead in another room.

All three showed signs of strangulation.

Faucets had been installed in one bathroom to flood the house. The floor was damaged and water seeped through a door. The alarm was triggered by neighbors they hadn’t seen in days.

Seema’s husband and the children’s father, Sameer Syed, 36, were not at home when Gardai made the grim discovery. He was found later.

The Educate Together national office said it was “shocked and saddened” by the “terrible tragedy”.

It added: “The words do not express the shock and deep sadness that many feel when they think of the children and families affected.

“Our thoughts are with the family, friends and classmates of the bereaved.”

The neighbors at Llewellyn Court raised the alarm after the native Indian family was not seen for several days.

India’s ambassador to Ireland, Sandeep Kumar, planted flowers on Thursday.

He told reporters that he had contacted Seema’s family in India.

Mr. Kumar said, “It is shocking how they were discovered.

“We are in contact with Lake Garda to offer any kind of support.

“Last night Lake Garda gave us the numbers of Seema Banu’s brother and Seema Banu’s mother.

“We called you about this incident and put you in contact with Lake Garda.”

He added, “We have offered the embassy’s full support to Seema Banu’s family and will continue to be in touch with them.

“Like every other family, it was tragic for you, we feel completely into yourselves and express our deepest and heartfelt condolences to you and may your gentle souls rest in peace.”

On Wednesday evening, Gardai made contact with husband Sameer, who is in Ireland on a work visa.

Both Seema and Sameer had settled in Ireland for some time.

Supt Paul Reidy from Blackrock Garda train station held a brief press conference near the house on Wednesday.

He said, “The scene has been preserved. We are treating the deaths as unresolved at the moment.

“The results of the autopsies will determine the course of our examination.”
