Terrorism. Knife attack in Nice: who are the victims?

As indicated by the mayor of Nice (LR) Christian Estrosi, the sacristan of Notre-Dame basilica is one of the victims of the knife attack. Aged 55, Vincent L. was from Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée, in the Nice hinterland, reports The Parisian. He had worked at the basilica for 10 years and was the father of two children.

Lay employee of the parish, he was responsible for welcoming the faithful to the basilica when the doors opened at 8:30 am. He also ensured the proper organization of the various masses and ceremonies.

According to a member of the parish quoted by The Parisian, Vincent L. ‘was “a bon vivant”, “someone expansive and sympathetic”.

Second victim of the assailant, Vincent L. was cut throat.

A 70-year-old faithful

The assailant’s first victim is a 70-year-old woman, who came to pray very early this Thursday morning. She was slaughtered inside the basilica.

A woman in her thirties

The last victim is a woman in her thirties. She was stabbed inside the church. Having managed to take refuge in a bar near the basilica, she succumbed to her injuries around 10 a.m.
