New Delhi:
A 29-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death and his two brothers were injured Tuesday during an argument that broke out after objecting to loud music from their neighbor in Mahendra Park, northwest Delhi, police said.
The dead were identified as Sushil, a resident of Sarai Pipal Thala in Mahendra Park, they said.
The police said they received information about the dispute at around 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
Sushil and his brothers – Sunil and Anil – were injured in the incident and were admitted to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial (BJRM) Hospital, police said.
While Sushil succumbed to injuries, Anil is serious and being treated. Sunil, who is also being hospitalized, said loud music was being played in an Abdul Sattar’s house, a senior police officer said.
When they asked Sattar, a garlic dealer in Azadpur Mandi, to turn the music down, they and Sattar argued, and they were stabbed by his four sons – Shahnawaz, Aafaq, Chand and Haseen, police said.
Shahjahan, Sattar’s wife, was also injured in the clash and was admitted to the BJRM hospital.
Based on Sunil’s testimony, one case was recorded under relevant sections at Mahendra Park Police Station. Sattar and his two sons Shahnawaz and Aafaq were arrested while Chand and Haseen are on the run, the officer said.
Sunil and Anil were taken to Safdarjung Hospital for further treatment.
Police said Sushil was already involved in criminal matters and used to smuggle alcohol. He is survived by his wife and a son. The autopsy is carried out in the BJRM hospital.
