In a post on Truth Social, Trump said Washington had no prior knowledge of the Israeli strike on South Pars and stressed that Qatar “was in no way, shape, or form involved.”

His remarks appeared to contradict reports citing US and Israeli officials who said the strike had been coordinated to deter Iran from disrupting oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump accused Iran of “unjustifiably and unfairly” targeting Qatar’s LNG infrastructure in Ras Laffan after misreading the situation, while describing the Israeli strike on South Pars as a reaction carried out “out of anger,” adding that only a limited section of the field was hit.

He warned that any renewed attack on Qatar’s LNG facilities would prompt the United States to “massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field,” with or without Israeli involvement, at a scale Iran has “never seen.”

Trump said he would prefer to avoid such escalation due to its long-term consequences but would act if necessary.

The escalation follows an Israeli airstrike on the Iranian side of the South Pars gas field, which halted production at two major refineries.

Qatar also reported two missile attacks targeting Ras Laffan Industrial City — the country’s main LNG hub — on Wednesday and early Thursday.

In response, Doha declared Iranian military and security attaches persona non grata and ordered them to leave the country.
