During the meeting, the Council condemned the systematic campaign that seeks to undermine the Prophet of Islam and mock Islamic sanctities under the slogan of “freedom of expression”, and decided to form an international legal experts committee to file a lawsuit against “Charlie Hebdo” for her insulting the Prophet of Mercy, and affirmed his strong condemnation of the killing of the French teacher as well as the attack by stabbing And the initiation of the killing of two Muslim women near the Eiffel Tower, and he stressed that all these incidents are abhorrent terrorism, whoever committed it and whatever its motives.

The Muslim Council of Elders expressed its strong opposition to the use of the freedom of expression sign in insulting the Prophet of Islam – may God bless him and grant him peace – and the sanctities of the Islamic religion, stressing that freedom of expression must come within a framework of social responsibility that preserves the rights of others and does not allow trading of religions in political markets. And election propaganda.

The Council renewed its call for Muslim citizens in the West to adhere to the values ​​of coexistence, peace and citizenship with all social components in their countries, and positive integration in those societies, in order to enhance their contributions to construction and development while preserving their religious and cultural constants and peculiarities, and not to be led by the provocations of the right-wing rhetoric that aims to distort Islam. And the consolidation of the idea of ​​associating it with terrorism and isolationism, and promoting hostility against Muslims.

The Council affirmed that facing these abuses will be through the courts and legal methods, in the belief of the Council in the importance of resisting hate speech and sedition through peaceful, rational and legal means. Pointing out that the time for words has passed and the time has come for action and action on the ground.

The Council called on Muslims to confront hate speech by enacting international legislation that criminalizes insulting of religions and their symbols, calling on the wise people of the West and its intellectuals to confront the systematic campaign against Islam and its hostility and to place it in the arenas of electoral and political conflicts and to create a healthy environment for coexistence and human fraternity.
