NASA doesn’t release many details about the announcement, but you can access a live audio broadcast of the media conference call on the NASA Live website on Monday, October 26 at 9:00 a.m.

Sofia is a high-flying, bespoke 747 aircraft. “SOFIA flies over 99% of the atmosphere’s opaque water vapor and observes in infrared wavelengths and can pick up phenomena that cannot be seen with visible light,” said NASA.
