The Algarve has one more death and 54 new cases of Covid-19, according to data from the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) of this Saturday, 24 October, which has just been released. Across the country, a new daily record was broken, with 3669 newly infected.
According to DGS data, the Algarve now has 2427 accumulated cases since the beginning of the pandemic. In terms of deaths, the numbers of the Directorate-General for Health give a total of 25 in the region.
In Alentejo, there are 96 more cases and two deaths. In this region, 35 people from Covid-19 have died and there are 2368 accumulated cases.
Across the country, 3669 new infections were registered today, a national record. The total is now 116,109 since the pandemic began.
In terms of deaths, there were 21 more since yesterday. These deaths occurred in the North (11), in Lisbon and the Tagus Valley (6), in the Alentejo (2), in the Center (1) and in the Algarve (1).
In the meantime, there were 1962 people recovering from Covid-19, bringing to 67,842 those who overcame the disease. Active cases rose to 45,970 (more than 1,686).
By regions, the North again leads the list of those who contributed most to the increase in daily cases, with over 2,212 infected (48,603 in total), followed by Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, which has another 1027 cases (52,340 accumulated).
Next are the Center (9661, 273 more), the Algarve (2427, 54 more), the Alentejo (2368, 96 more), Madeira (372, 3 more) and the Azores (338, 4 more).
The number of hospitalized in hospitals in the country continues to rise and is now 1455 (plus 37). In intensive care, the number of hospitalized patients rose to 221 (23 more).
This Saturday there are 57,024 contacts under surveillance (minus 431).
