The veto on the entry of foreigners “by road, other land or waterway” remains in effect. The only prerequisite is compulsory health insurance.

International flights and the entry of foreigners in other ways had been restricted in March, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Bolivia, for example, requires visitors to submit a negative molecular test result (RT-PCR) for Covid-19 obtained at least seven days before the trip. In Peru, which has the highest mortality rate among the 20 countries affected by the coronavirus – followed by Brazil, according to data from Johns Hopkins University, in the United States, international commercial flights were resumed on October 5, but only for Latin America. In addition, the Peruvian government requires a negative molecular test result (PCR) performed at least 72 hours before the flight. If the traveler experiences symptoms of Covid-19 when he arrives in Peru, he is asked to isolate himself for 14 days.
In Colombia, the foreign visitor has to comply with a series of requirements, including presenting a negative molecular test result (CPR) for Covid-19 carried out 96 hours before departure. In Latin America (excluding the Caribbean), in addition to Brazil, only Mexico allows travelers to enter without restrictions, despite asking to fill out a form entitled “Questionnaire to identify risk factors in travelers”.
In the United States, which has the highest death toll from Covid-19, restrictions remain in place. About a month ago, the Donald Trump administration announced the lifting of the restriction on flights departing from some countries, including Brazil.
But in practice, Brazilians remain prohibited from entering American territory, unless they are citizens of the country, legal permanent residents (holders of green cards), immediate family members of American citizens and specific categories.
Still, the United States recommends “that international travelers be quarantined for 14 days when traveling from high-risk areas,” says a note from the American embassy in Brazil.
