Decapitated teacher: the CFCM calls for mobilization against obscurantism and hatred

The French Muslim Worship Council (CFCM) declared itself deeply shocked by the beheading of a teacher in the Paris region and called for mobilization against “Obscurantism, hatred and violence”.

“We are deeply shocked by the barbaric assassination of a teacher at the Bois-d’Aulne college in Conflans Saint Honorine. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones ”, reacted on Twitter, the president of the CFCM, Mohammed Moussaoui. “Let us mobilize with force against obscurantism, hatred and violence”, he called.

For the president of the representative body of Islam in France, “In the face of those who seek a reason for this ignoble crime by evoking the caricatures of the Prophet of Islam, we reaffirm that nothing, absolutely nothing, can justify the murder of a Man.” »

Nine people were arrested and taken into police custody after the beheading on Friday of a history teacher near a college in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine (Yvelines), in the Paris region, according to local media. Four people in the entourage of the alleged perpetrator of this attack who was shot dead by the police, were taken into police custody overnight from Friday to Saturday. Saturday morning, five other people were arrested.

An investigation was opened by the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (PNAT) to “Assassination in connection with a terrorist enterprise” and “Criminal terrorist association”.

The attack plunged France into shock and emotion. President Emmanuel Macron denounced a “Characterized Islamist terrorist attack”. ” They will not pass. Obscurantism will not win ”, declared the French head of state.

The attack also stirred up a wave of indignation in the political class, from all sides. In the National Assembly, the deputies rose to “Salute memory” professor and denounce a “Abominable attack”.

This attack comes as the trial of the attacks against Charlie Hebdo and the Hyper Cacher store in January 2015 before the Special Assize Court of Paris.
