After a whole night in the mortuary … a man wakes...

In a terrifying incident that sparked outrage in India, an elderly person was rescued in critical condition in Salem, Tamil Nadu state, after he stayed for a full night in the mortuary refrigerator in the hospital morgue, after it was believed that he had died.

For the past two months, Balasubramaniyam Kumar has been suffering from diseases related to aging and has been living with his younger brother Sarvanan, who is 70, in Kandhambati village in Salem District.

According to police officials, when Sarphanan tried to wake up his older brother Kumar on Monday evening, he did not respond to him despite several attempts, so he thought his brother, who was ill and suffering from seizures, had died.

Sarfanan asked a funeral services company to provide the body freeze box and called several relatives to inform them of the last rites planned for the next day.

However, when employees of the Funeral Services Company, on Tuesday, came to retrieve the freeze box, they were surprised by Kumar’s hand moving.

And immediately set off the alarm to help him, and informed the police, who took Kumar immediately to the hospital, according to the newspaper “Hindustan Times”.

And the Indian television network “NDTV” published footage of Kumar inside the box, panting while he was breathing with difficulty and moving his hands.

“It appears that Kumar’s brother did not intend to do this,” the police official said. Police are investigating the case on charges of negligence and endangering a person’s life.
