Killing Eve actress Jodie Comer has emotionally bid farewell to Ireland as she completes filming on The Last Duel.

The award-winning star, 27, has been shooting with Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Adam Driver in the upcoming Ridley Scott movie for the past two months.

As one of the first projects to resume after Covid, it has been working with a 200-strong cast and crew in various locations across the country over the past few months.

That included the quaint Cahir Castle in Tipperary, and she clearly enjoyed her time here in Ireland.

She went to Instagram and posted photos with her highlights while she was shooting here.

The British star said she had “mixed feelings” about leaving the country after building a strong bond with the production team.

She posted a picture next to her hair and makeup team as she paid them tribute.

“It’s thrilled to have finished this film under the circumstances, but it’s more than sad to say goodbye to the most wonderful people,” she wrote.

“Many of them are not shown here, but these three were trouble, the best kind! Many thanks to the entire cast and crew. ”She closed the post with the words“ The last duel ”.

It is set in 14th century France during the time of King Charles VI. And tells the story of best friends Jean de Carrouges (Damon) and Jacques Le Gris (driver).

The two men receive beating after Le Gris is accused of raping Carrouges’ wife and telling him to challenge him to the final legally sanctioned duel to the death.

The cast and crew had just started working on the big budget production before the lockdown forced them to stand still.

Damon made headlines around the world after deciding to quarantine Eddie Irvine’s villa in Killiney with his wife and children.

This meant that after the virus first appeared, it was subject to the same 2 km radius restrictions as the rest of the country.

Blending in perfectly with the locals, he walked around Killiney and was spotted wearing a SuperValu bag after a dip in Dublin Bay.

In an interview with Spin 1038 that went global shortly afterwards, he raved about the beauty of his surroundings. “It feels like a fairy tale. When I first walked in, people said, ‘Well, Bono lives there, Enya lives there,’ ”Damon said.

GORGEOUS

“It was amazing. This is one of the nicest places we have ever been. Of course what is going on in the world is terrible, but I have my whole family; i am with my kids and we have teachers with us because we were going to miss school for about eight weeks.

“We have what no one else has, which is living people teaching our children, so we feel guilty. We have this facility in this incredible place.

“It’s absolutely great. Even in the 2 km long closure we have trees, forests and the sea. I can’t think of a place where you would rather be within a 2 km radius. ”

When the cast and crew returned in August, they all went to quarantine at the luxury K-Club in Kildare before resuming filming.
