Important points:
- Police were called to the Crown Hotel in Collie on Thursday evening
- A 23-year-old woman was helicoptered to Royal Perth Hospital and is in critical condition
- Member for Collie, Mick Murray, said he was told it was an intentional act
The police were called to the Crown Hotel in Collie shortly after 11:00 p.m.
A 23-year-old woman was brought to the Royal Perth Hospital by helicopter and is in critical condition, while an 18-year-old woman was taken to the Collie Hospital in severe condition but has since been released.
The member for Collie, Mick Murray, was informed by police today and said he was told it was an intentional act.
The Crown Hotel is on a straight stretch of Throssell Street in Collie and is set back from the street.
“There is a lot of traffic through Collie’s main drag and anyone who has been there would know it is straight and there is a speed limit of 40 kilometers per hour, so it all points to someone who actually went out to others hurting people, “said Mr. Murray.
“I assume that Thursday night people were just having fun and couldn’t get home safely. I think that’s wrong. ”
He expressed his shock at the crash and told ABC the incident was not conducive to the friendly, communal lifestyle in Collie.
The police are still investigating the circumstances of the incident.
