For this reason, Jumblatt refused to name Hariri

Member of the “Democratic Meeting”, Representative Bilal Abdullah, affirmed that “we are trying to make our decision, at the minimum, independent, and we have tried to facilitate matters regarding the French initiative and the formation of the government, but we do not have an independent president, nor an independent speaker of Parliament, so that the focus is on an independent prime minister.”In an interview with the “Time Has Come” program on the “mtv” channel, Abdullah said: “The French initiative is being strongly proposed and is the only window to save Lebanon and push it so that it does not collapse, but it seems that the internal equation has returned to positions and opposing stances, without understanding or awareness.”

Abdullah pointed out that, “out of concern for Prime Minister Saad Hariri, President Walid Jumblatt decided not to name him, and we had concerns about the environment that Hariri represents, and Hariri’s direct contact with us dispelled our concerns and assured us of his progress with the French initiative and our decision is not to nominate any party for a ministry.”
