Democratic Vice Presidential Candidate suspends her trips due to Corona |...

Democratic US vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris has canceled travel trips until next week after two campaign tests tested positive for the Coronavirus, the campaign announced today, Thursday (October 15, 2020).

The campaign statement said the decision was taken “out of caution, and in line with our campaign’s commitment to take the highest levels of precautionary measures.”

The campaign said that Harris should not undergo a quarantine, as she had not been in direct contact with the two during the two days prior to their diagnosis of Covid-19 – referring to the guidelines of the US Health Agency and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

These two members traveled by plane with the Democratic senator on 8 October. According to her campaign team, Kamala Harris has since conducted two tests for Covid-19, which came back negative, explaining that the senator had not been in contact with the two infected “during the 48 hours preceding their test.”

Harris said in a tweet on Twitter: “My results were negative for two tests this week, and I did not show symptoms of (Corona).”

She wrote that “both the flight crew member and the staff member were wearing N95 masks at all times that they were close to me, and our doctors believed that we were not exposed to infection according to the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”

Late on Wednesday, the team learned that Harris Communications Director Liz Allen and a member of the flight crew had tested positive. According to the campaign, neither of them had recent contact with Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden or any of the employees.

Harris will continue her election campaign with online events.

This announcement is the latest development in a presidential campaign that has been turned upside down due to the Covid-19 epidemic, two weeks after the day President Donald tested positive for the virus.
