A 24-year-old man was arrested after a woman was allegedly beaten to death in her home in west Sydney in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

At around 2:40 a.m. yesterday, emergency services were called to a block of flats on Lane Street in Wentworthville after a neighbor reported a woman had been seriously injured.
Despite all efforts, 23-year-old Sabah Hafiz died on the scene.
Assistant Detective Superintendent Simon Glasser said police believed Ms. Hafiz had been attacked but were unsure whether a weapon had been used.
“It is a tragic result – we take it extremely seriously and have set up a strike group to investigate the circumstances surrounding this murder,” said acting Superintendent Glasser.
Investigators have been looking for her husband Adam Cureton, 24, who also lived on the property.
Sonah Hafiz, Ms. Hafiz’s father, told ABC he had never met Mr. Cureton but believed the couple had only been married “a few years”.
At around 11 a.m. today, a 24-year-old man was arrested at Astoria Court in Maroubra.
He has been taken to the Maroubra Police Station and is currently helping with a police investigation.
