Thank you for reading the news about 'Our concert is a celebration of love' says Armaan Malik and now with the details
Aden - Yasmine El Tohamy - Brothers Armaan and Amaal Malik need no introduction. Hailing from a famous musical family, the siblings have created their own unique impact in India's music industry, and boast a global fanbase with hits like Sooraj Dooba Hai from the film Roy, Tumhe Apna Banane Ka Junoon, the hit number from Hate Story 3, Hua Hai Aaj Pehli Baar from romantic film, Sanam Re, and many more. We caught up with Armaan Malik to know more about the brothers' upcoming concert at Bollywood Parks Dubai, a special National Day celebration.
What can fans expect from your National Day concert?
Our concert is a celebration of love and love for music. Both of us have planned an amazing set for the Dubai audience ranging from our hit romantic songs like Bol Do Na Zara and Main Hoon Hero Tera to party chartbusters like Sooraj Dooba Hai and Chull to name a few. There's gonna be a song for everyone in the audience. Since this is our first public concert here in the UAE, we intend to make this the most memorable show Dubai has ever seen.
What is it like singing with each other?
I have always sung for Amaal in the studio but singing our songs on stage is another feeling altogether. It's in fact a dream come true. There's this comfort and ease when we have each other around and our performance reflects that. Also, we have super supportive parents and to be able to sing live with my brother onstage is the biggest gift we can give them for all the sacrifice they have put in to make us who we are today.
Being siblings, are your tastes in music the same?
Our musical sensibilities are very similar. We have a lot in common when it comes to favourite artistes and music. It's only our interpretation of music that is different. Sometimes that leads to creative disagreements in the studio, but all for the good of the song.
What are your most popular hits that fans love to hear you both sing?
Well, the fans love to hear me sing Bol Do Na Zara, Main Rahoon, Wajah Tum Ho, Main Hoon Hero Tera. And from Amaal they love to hear Roke Na Ruke Naina, Soch Na Sake and Kaun Tujhe.
You have sung Shaamein for the series Broken... but Beautiful, which is your digital debut. Have streaming media services expanded the opportunities available to singers to create original music?
I believe that there's a very big shift that has occurred in the way people consume content today. People are online most of the time and that's where the maximum consumption happens. With the advent of OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon, Zee 5 etc to name a few, a whole new dimension to movies, shows and music has opened up. I'm glad that with Shaamein, both Amaal and I have got the opportunity to enter into this space and explore the various possibilities. It's exciting!
What qualities do you appreciate in each other? Is there anything that annoys you about each other?
Amaal doesn't pick up calls or respond. It's very annoying. And he works very late in the night and he expects me to do the same. I'm an early to bed early to rise kinda guy, but Amaal is responsible for ruining my sleep patterns, haha.
Who are the singers that have inspired you?
Michael Bublé, John Mayer, Sonu Nigam and Arijit Singh.
Armaan's favourite songs
. Channa Mereya (Pritam, Arijit Singh)
. Hawaayein (Pritam, Arijit Singh)
. Abhi Mujhme Kahin (Ajay Atul, Sonu Nigam)
. Tujhe Kitna Chahne Lage Hum (Mithoon, Arijit)
