(Boursier.com) — Gaussin , a pioneer in clean and intelligent freight transport, and Plug Power Inc, one of the leading suppliers of hydrogen engines and fueling solutions for electric mobility, announce a partnership aimed at bringing a range of vehicles to market in 2021 Gaussin transport systems powered by ProGen with the objective of decarbonising the logistics ecosystem.
The integrated solutions, ranging from tractors for Gaussin terminals powered by ProGen to autonomous vehicles, will use green hydrogen produced by Plug Power’s best PEM electrolyser solution.

A commercial launch of the first vehicles scheduled for early 2021

Gaussin, a pioneer in hydrogen-powered logistics vehicles, has more than two decades of experience in deploying emission-free vehicles in Europe, the Middle East and Asia in logistics centers, seaports and airports. By integrating the sector-leading ProGen hydrogen engines from Plug Power, Gaussin is positioning itself even more as a key supplier in the emerging hydrogen economy. Plug Power and Gaussin will target new markets for hydrogen, including logistics centers, seaports and airports in Europe, the United States and around the world. The first vehicles should be available on the market at the start of 2021.

Plug Power is the leading supplier of hydrogen fuel cell engines and the largest user of liquid hydrogen in the world. The company provides hydrogen and fuel cell solutions for e-mobility applications, offering a range of fuel cells from 30 to 125 kW for heavy vehicle fleets and road vehicles. Plug Power’s modular ProGen fuel cell motors range from 30 to 125 kW, and are designed for OEMs like Gaussin to integrate into zero-emission vehicles. The company is implementing a strategy to accelerate its PEM electrolyser activity in the United States and Europe, by exploiting distribution channels and developing a scalable multi-megawatt network for the production of green hydrogen.

Promote green hydrogen solutions in the United States, Europe and beyond

“Our partnerships with leading OEMs, like Gaussin, allow us to implement green solutions for hydrogen in the United States, Europe and beyond,” said Andy Marsh, CEO of Plug Power. “We are working on the integration of ProGen engines in freight and road vehicle transport applications with the best partners in each category to make the freight and logistics markets greener through our green hydrogen solutions and ‘durable energy”.

“Gaussin welcomes this new partnership with Plug Power as the Group continues to penetrate the market for durable goods transport vehicles. Indeed, Plug Power has deployed more than 38,000 fuel cell systems for e-mobility, more than anyone in the world, ”says Christophe Gaussin, CEO of Gaussin. “Hydrogen is a strategic fuel solution on a global scale, and Gaussin intends to be a leading solutions provider for zero emission vehicles. This unique ecosystem is mature enough for rapid deployment of the hydrogen vehicle range. and autonomous from GAUSSIN in logistics centers, ports, airports and now on the roads with heavy trucks and tractors. ”

This partnership is also a new step for Gaussin in North America after the recent signing of a partnership with Magna, the Canadian mobility technology giant. It should help strengthen Gaussin’s activities with the logistics and e-commerce giants. Gaussin aims to provide excellent local service for the maintenance and commissioning of equipment, particularly batteries and fuel cells.
