Azura and Suez join forces in waste recovery in Agadir

The AZURA Group has entrusted SUEZ with the overall management of non-organic waste generated by its conditioning station located in the region of Agadir in Morocco. SUEZ’s services include the collection, sorting, recovery and treatment of waste generated by the conditioning station and AZURA farms in Morocco.

SUEZ is committed to supporting AZURA in achieving its environmental objectives by offering “An innovative digital tool allowing in complete transparency to follow important information such as the volumes of waste produced, their destinations or even the number of km traveled by the trucks transporting them”, as well as’ “A virtuous solution for energy recovery from organic waste to avoid the need for landfill”, indicates a press release from the Azura group.

A pilot is currently underway to transform the grubbing and leaf stripping waste into Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF). After a step of drying, grinding and screening, this waste thus transformed can be used as fuel in cement plants.
