Audi RS E-tron GT completely in the picture

Audi has taken a prototype of the RS E-tron GT to the 24 hours of Spa. No, not for racing, but to let the fully electric liftback lead the warm-up lap in front of the cameras. The prototype gives a good idea of ​​what the final production version will look like.

The prototype of the RS E-tron GT actually brings few surprises. In 2018, Audi pulled the curtain on the E-tron GT Concept, a sleek preview of what would eventually come. The manufacturer has remained faithful to the futuristic appearance of the concept, because the RS E-tron GT has been given almost all styling elements. The RS E-tron GT, which will soon be the top of the range, has brightly colored accents that emphasize the slats in the front bumper and the logo. The side skirts are also wrapped in that orange-red jacket. Furthermore, a wild sticker has been applied to the matte black paint, which was previously visible in teaser images that Audi released. It almost looks like the RS E-tron GT has driven away from the movie ‘Tron’.

Detailed technical specifications of the first fully electric RS model have not yet been released by Audi, as well as of the other versions that will be released on the market. The E-tron GT is on the J1 platform shared with the Porsche Taycan. It is therefore not inconceivable that the RS version of the E-tron GT will have almost the same specifications as the 761 hp Taycan Turbo (S). The study model of the E-tron GT already had 590 hp and a battery pack of 90 kWh. At the end of this year, the first copies of the E-tron GT will roll off the line in Neckarsulm, where it will be built alongside the R8. The first low electric Audi will be launched on the market at the beginning of next year. Prices are not yet known.
