CNBC Arabia learned that a decision will be issued in this regard by the Council of Ministers that sets the conditions, frameworks, controls and procedures for real estate ownership and use in Qatar.

The decision, which was reviewed by CNBC Arabia, defines 19 areas within the capital, Doha, as usufruct areas for a period of 99 years, and 9 freehold areas, including the Pearl, West Bay and Lusail.

The decision allows free real estate ownership for non-Qataris in all regions of the country within the detached units within residential complexes and commercial complexes.

And the expected decision – issued this week – facilitates the acquisition of real estate owners and their family members to obtain residency in the State of Qatar, provided that the value of the property owned is not less than 200 thousand dollars and without the need for a “sponsor”, as the owner of the property whose value is not less than one million Dollars on all the benefits of permanent residency, which include health, education, and investment in some commercial activities.
